Hello everybody,

we just arrived in China, plan to cycle from Pingyao to the west and cross the border to Mongolia at Bulgan. We still don't have a fixed route for the Pingyao – Bulgan stretch. That's why we have a few questions:

1) According to http://tomongolia.blogspot.de/2011/…/bulgan-border-open.html the border crossing at Bulgan is open to cyclist. Since this information is quite old does anybody know what the current situation at this border crossing is?
2) Unrest in Xinjiang. A good friend reported on current unrest in Xinjiang province. So far we could not find any up to date information ourselves. Does anybody have current information?
3) We'll start from Pingyao in 2 days and are still open to interesting suggestions, ideas and tips for the stretch from Pingyao to Bulgan. So if you have any …
